about the client
For over forty years the Toneelschuur in Haarlem has been a leading contemporary house for the Dutch theater, dance and film world. Every year numerous theater productions and modern dance performances are presented from home and abroad. In the cinema you can see a broad program of the most important films in the art house circuit.
about the project
During an earlier project Lava developed a graphic concept that worked especially well on print media. While its visitors were getting used to make reservations online, the need for a new responsive platform arose. Elements within this project:
- Use the current visual identity principles and apply or tranform them in such a way that the idea stays intact but it works digitally
- Create a user experience concept that helps visitors of films and theatre plays to get inspired and buy tickets, also on mobile touch based media.
Within a team of three UX and UI designers I worked on the new online concept and design for the Toneelschuur. We worked together with an external tech partner to create the on- and offline linking of all systems.
The website has been hugely successful and additional services and functions have been attached to it later on.
